Super Vitamin Mineral Smoothie!

I saw someone on the Youngevity Facebook page mention that they made a smoothie with their Beyond Tangy Tangerine (BTT) supplement.

That inspired me since I make a protein smoothie almost every morning. I challenged myself to see how I could combine my supplements to make a delicious smoothie!

Here is what I came up with. First of all, I take BTT, Herbal Rainforest, and Osteo FX Plus daily. This was a great opportunity to combine these so I didn't have to drink 3 or more different drinks a day.

I got out my Magic Bullet Blender and I put about 5 cubes of crushed ice in. I then put in a scoop and a half of Beyond Tangy Tangerine. Then I add my Osteo FX Plus and my Herbal Rainforest. I mix in about a tbsp of Slimtevia (this is a stevia made from the whole plant, so no bitter aftertaste of Stevia).

I put in a tbsp of plain Greek Yogurt. I added a scoop of Vanilla Slender FX Meal Replacement Shake and frozen mixed berries. You can use whatever frozen fruit you like here. I then add Almond Milk and blend it all up. The Beyond Tangy Tangerine gives it a great extra flavor.

This Vanilla Berry Shake/Smoothie was one of the best ones I have ever had. I know it was extra good for me because it had my supplements in it as well.

I hope you like this recipe and here's to you living younger, longer!

Which Snacks are Helping You Lose Weight?

Weight loss can be a tricky thing. One of the best things you can do for your fat loss is to keep healthy snacks around.

You might have some at work, in your car, in your gym bag, and of course, at home.

For example, right now I have some mixed nuts in my car to munch on if I want to.

Eating small amounts every couple of hours increases metabolism and energy, so snacks really look like a winner here.

For example, I love apples. I like to take an apple and a couple of cheese sticks with me for the day.

Making sure you have some healthy snacks with you during the day will help curb your appetite and by eating something healthy more frequently, will increase your metabolism and burn fat.

How Important is Pairing Your Food for Weight Loss?

There is a lot of attention focused on combining the correct amounts of foods with each other. We spend
a good deal of time trying to discover which combinations will work the best for weight loss and our overall health.

We are all searching for that balance between protein, sugar, fat, and fiber. Sometimes the problem is that you are spending too much time stressing over which combinations make the right balance for you.

Here's a tip from Health and Fitness Expert, Sanjeev Javia.

He said that you shouldn't stress out over the perfect combination of foods, but to be aware of one. Whenever you are consuming sugar, make sure you have a good balance for that.

Whenver he is eating something with sucrose (sugar), he makes sure he eats a protein with it.

For example, fruit is healthy but is high in sugar content. A great way to balance that would be with nuts.

Sanjeev gave the example of having an apple and having almonds with it. He also mentioned that an apple has fiber and paring it with an almond will also decrease your appetite!

I hope you enjoyed this tip today and make sure you go over to the side of the page here and grab your Free Report on How You Can Live Longer and Healthier.

Vitamin D - In a Spray!

I really got excited when I saw this today. Check it out. It is a Vitamin D formula in a spray. Not only that, but it is D3, which gives you the major benefit of Vitamin D, which most of us do not get enough of, especially in the winter.

Lack of Vitamin D can lead to depression, so a Vitamin D supplement, especially during the dark winter, really is needed.
This is a non aerosol, too. You can get this by clicking here!

Which Weight Loss Shake Did You Have for Breakfast?

I've talked about before about the poor nutrition those grab-off-the-shelf weight loss shakes have in them. Sugar and oil do not a healthy drink make. They don't taste that great, either.

On the blog here I've got several recipes for making your own Weight Loss shake or Weight Loss Smoothie. Don't tell me you don't have time, it only takes a couple of minutes to whip one up.

Today I had a Vanilla Nutella Banana Shake. It was delicious.

Here's how I made it:

5 crushed ice cubes
1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
1 tbsp plain Greek Yogurt
1 tbsp Nutella
1/2 frozen banana
Almond milk and Slimtevia to taste.

I'm almost addicted to these morning Weight Loss shakes. I love the variety.
They just aren't for breakfast. You can have them anytime.

Check out the blog here for more weight loss recipes.

Eat Fries for Weight Loss

I wanted to share a recipe with you from Josh Benzoni. He has some great takes on junk food that can be tweaked to make it a healthier choice!

I am seeing fast food places trying to make fries seem good for you by advertising that they are made with sea salt or I am now seeing a lot of Sweet Potato fries. They are still fried and full of trans fats. The worst thing for your heart.

Check out this good switch from one of the worst foods you can eat, fries.

Here is a healthy way to eat your fries:

Baked Sweet Potato “Fries”

If the only way you’re used to eating sweet potatoes is in a Thanksgiving casserole, you’re missing out on a very nutritious vegetable. Packed with beta carotene, sweet potatoes have a great flavor that can accompany a variety of dishes.
Ingredients
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 large sweet potatoes
Directions
  1. In a small bowl, combine the cumin, salt, and pepper. Set the bowl aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400˚ F.
  3. Peel the potatoes, cut each in half lengthwise, and cut each half into 6 wedges. In a large bowl, combine the cut potatoes, oil, and spice mixture. Toss until the potatoes are evenly coated.
  4. On a baking sheet, arrange the potatoes in a single layer and place them on the middle shelf of the oven. Bake until the edges are crisp and the potatoes are cooked through, about 30 minutes. Serve immediately.

Clinical Research Studies Performed by Clemson University Validate Use of Vitamins and MInerals

Here's some exciting news about the effectiveness of nutraceuticals from Clemson University!

AL International (JCOF) Announces Results of Youngevity®  – Institute of Nutraceutical ResearchClinical Research Studies Performed by Clemson University

San Diego, CA – January 25, 2013 – Youngevity® Essential Life Sciences (www.youngevity.com), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AL International, Inc. (OTC Pink: JCOF) (www.alintjcof.com), a fast growing, innovative, global direct marketer of healthy lifestyle and nutritional products and gourmet fortified coffee, announced today the exciting results of a series of clinical research studies performed by Clemson University – Institute of Nutraceutical Research (“INR”).
The INR is a national leader in nutritional research and one of the most highly regarded organizations in the field of phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals. The goals of the INR are to develop greater confidence in product quality, effectiveness, and enhance consumer demand for quality nutraceutical products.
The clinical studies were performed to identify the potential benefits of Youngevity’s signature core products, Beyond Tangy Tangerine® and Ultimate Classic®. Youngevity’s mission was to truly understand and clinically substantiate the health promoting benefits of these two products. Individually, each product targets specific areas, needs, and nutritional deficiencies of the body.
Multiple studies were recommended by Clemson University scientists to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the Youngevity® products. Specific biomarkers were chosen to study in the areas of safety, inflammation, and when Beyond Tangy Tangerine® and Ultimate Classic® were administered to cancer cell cultures.
Youngevity® Clinical Research Study Highlights:
  • Dietary supplement safety is the most highly regarded aspect of any of the Youngevity® various products and has become synonymous with the Youngevity® name and brand. Although Youngevity® only uses nutrients that are absolutely needed by the body and in forms that are highly bioavailable, Youngevity® felt it was important to show empirically the range and degree of safety through looking at (3) factors – Genotoxicity, Anti-Genotoxicity, and Anti-Mutagenicity. The results of the experiments showed that Beyond Tangy Tangerine® and Ultimate Classic® at various concentrations did not show any genotoxicity.
  • When Beyond Tangy Tangerine® and Ultimate Classic® were administered to healthy human cell lines; they did not induce or create any inflammatory response in levels above and below the recommended dosage. Beyond Tangy Tangerine® and Ultimate Classic® showed inflammation protective properties and heightened the body’s protective responses to possible inflammation.
  • When Beyond Tangy Tangerine® and Ultimate Classic® were administered to healthy human colon cells; there was no significant death of healthy human cells compared to cancerous colon cells. Ultimate Classic® killed 95% of cancerous colon cells, 65% of cancerous liver cells, 65% of cancerous stomach cells, and 30% of cancerous breast cells. Beyond Tangy Tangerine® killed 60% of cancerous colon cells, 65% of cancerous liver and stomach cells, and 30% of cancerous breast cells.
  • Beyond Tangy Tangerine® and Ultimate Classic® both exhibited efficient inhibition on proliferation of cancerous cells at the recommended dosage levels. Both products showed there was inhibition of the growth of more cancerous cells, preventing further malignant multiplication and growth of unhealthy cells.
The Clemson University studies have provided Youngevity® greater confidence in their products, scientist, formulators, and manufacturing processes and helped to understand some of the pathways the Youngevity® products may be working through in order to provide these benefits.
AL International CEO, Steve Wallach, adds, “At Youngevity® we have always sought to provide high quality and safe products, these studies have added to the assurance we have in all of the Youngevity® products.”

How to Prevent Birth Defects Before Pregnancy

Did you know that the most most birth defects are those of the brain and of the spine?

Spina bifida and anencephaly are called NTDs, or Neural Tube Defects. This means that the spine or skull do not close completely.

These affect about 3,000 pregnancies each year here in the U.S.

Researchers discovered that if women included a B vitamin each day plus at least 400mcg of folic acid daily, it could prevent up to 70% of these birth defects.

What is important is that the folic acid is absorbed in your blood so that when you do become pregnant, the baby will enjoy a healthy start.

These neural tube defects happpen 18 to 30 days after conception. Most women don't even know that they are pregnant at this point, so you can see the importance of having these important nutrients before you become pregnant.

There was a 31% decline in spina bifida and a 16% decline in ananephaly by 1999.

There are still a lot of birth defects that could be prevented, however. It's been reported that only 40% of women take folic acid daily, even when they are aware of its benefits.

If you include a great supplement in your diet like BTT, Beyond Tangy Tangerine, this includes not only many great vitmains, minerals, fruits, and vegetables in a delicious drink, but it also includes the recommended daily amount of folic acid.

Stay healthy and live younger and longer,

Brian

How to Build Your Muscles with Pizza!

So today I'm giving away one of the killer recipes from Anabolic Cooking so you can reward yourself with a delicious treat after a super tough workout...

I like it because there are no harmful additives that normally go into regular take-out pizza.  Imagine, enjoying pizza guilt-free while still building muscle and keeping your abs in check?

And this only takes 20-25 minutes to make or  just 15 minutes if you have all the ingredients before hand.

This is from Dave Ruel, whom I have mentioned before. I have several recipes from Dave and his wife Karine, out of the Metabolic Cooking cookbook.

So here's a recipe from Dave for muscle building!

CHICKEN PIZZA! (Directly from Anabolic Cooking)

Ingredients:

 • 6oz of diced Chicken Breasts

• 2 Tbsp of Perfect Spaghetti Sauce (see Salads, Soups and Sides section)
or any healthy commercial spaghetti sauce. The Perfect Spaghetti Sauce
can be found on page 152 of Anabolic Cooking.

• 1/3 cup of low-fat Mozzarella

• 1 Whole Wheat Pita Bread

• 1/4 cup sliced Mushrooms

• 1/4 cup diced Green Pepper

• 1/4 cup diced Red Pepper

• 1/4 cup chopped onions

• Salt and Pepper

 Directions:

1. Cook chicken separately.

2. Spread Spaghetti Sauce on one side of the Pita Bread

3. Top with chicken and veggies

4. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, salt and pepper

5. Bake in Oven at 375 Degrees F. for 15 minutes or until pita bread is crusty.

***Cool Tip from the Muscle Cook: when the Pizza is nearly done, turn
it to broil and watch carefully as the cheese turns to a golden brown
just like the real thing.

How to Stay Healthy this Winter, Part 2

Today I have a guest article by one of the leaders in the health supplement industry. Today you'll discover how to be healthier this winter by learning how to deal with viruses!

Steer Clear of Noro!

While most of us are trying to protect ourselves from the Flu, or even recuperating from it, there’s another group of highly contagious viruses we should be looking out for, Noroviruses. The name sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, but you are actually very familiar with these viruses and chances are that you’ve come across a form on the Norovirus in your life; maybe even more than once. Most of us know them as the stomach flu or food poisoning. Additionally, there are many strains and no vaccination or treatment for noroviruses. Recent reports have shown a high number of Norovirus cases worldwide.
In the United States, Noroviruses are the most common cause of gastroenterisis, the inflammation of the stomach and intestines that cause stomach cramping, vomiting, and diarrhea. The CDC estimates that each year more than 20 million cases of acute gastroenteritis are caused by noroviruses. That means about 1 in every 15 Americans will get a norovirus illness each year. Norovirus is also estimated to cause over 70,000 hospitalizations and 800 deaths each year in the United States alone!1
As big of a problem as this is, you’d think that we would take more measures to prevent ourselves from contracting the norovirus, especially because there is not any known method of treatment. If you get sick, you simply have to let the virus run its course and symptoms usually last 1 to 2 days, and unfortunately, this virus can spread quickly especially in crowded places.
Yes, this is slightly alarming, however, there are ways to prevent yourself and loved ones from having to deal with this uncomfortable illness.
  • Make hygiene a priority and wash your hands frequently, especially after using the bathroom, changing diapers, and before eating and preparing food.
  • Be sure to wash your fruits and veggies and cook your food thoroughly.
  • If you’re sick, try not to spread the virus. Clean and disinfect areas, wash your laundry thoroughly, and do not prepare food for others.
Being sick, especially with norovirus, is never pleasant. Take extra steps to prevent yourself from contacting this virus by using Youngevity’s PureWorks products. Make sure you have PureWorks Antibacterial soap in your bathrooms and kitchen and be sure to keep PureWorks Antibacterial Foam handy, in case you’re out somewhere are you can’t find soap to wash your hands with.
Remember, hygiene and disinfection is they key in preventing Norovirus!
Until next week,
Best Wishes for Ultimate Health and Majestic Dreams!
Steve Wallach
CEO
AL International
I also wanted to let you know about that Pureworks has a great Antibacterial Lotion and Towelettes for on the go!

How to Stay Healthy this Winter.

I just read that there is a strain of flu this winter which has reached most of the country. This strain of flu was not covered by your flu shot. So what can we do to help our immune system? Probiotics can help.

When you think about protecting yourself from germs and cold this winter, I know that you think of using hand sanitizer and Vitamin C.

What you probably don't realize is that 70% of your immune system is in your digestive tract.

I'm sure you have heard of probiotics and you have probably heard of eating yogurt to get the benefits of probiotics. Yogurt is also a good source of Vitamin D, Calcium and protein.

I'm not saying you should not eat yogurt, I do, but supplements can provide a great deal more.

Yourt usually contains only 1 strain of probiotic. Many of the probiotics in yogurt don't pass into the intenstines where they are needed because they don't make it through your stomach acid. Exposure to heat and other things make it so bacteria aren't able to survive in yogurt.

Let me tell you about some interesting supplements that can provide probiotics that you will love.

One is called Root Beer Belly™ and the other is Healthy Chocolate.

Root Beer Belly™ has only 4 calories. it's dairy- and gluten-free, supports a healthy digestive system, enhances your immune system, and promotes healthy bacteria in the intenstines.

Root Beer Belly™ is a root beer flavored, microencapsulated probiotic sprinkle providing you with 5 of the most advantageous probiotic strains on the market.

Microencapsulation makes is more likely that a probiotic will survive stomach acidity, allowing it to cultivate and provide you with several benefits starting with a healthy digestive and immune system.
